Solenoid is there because my system does not work off the pump having to be running. My system is already under pressure ready to go. there is no build up. My setup is actually pretty common, I think Auqumist uses this layout as well. The solenoid keeps the system under pressure as I explained. So the pump pressurizes the system up to the solenoid. Then when I need the water injection to kick on, the solenoid opens and sends the fluid. It doesn't trigger the pump to turn on, my pump is always powered and on. The only reason my pump would run though is if the system pressure gets lower than the preset on the pump. My nozzels are on the hard pipes.

Actually its just the opposite. The accumulator keeps the system pressure stores and ready so that as soon as the solenoid opens the pressurized fluid goes to the nozzels. And since it's stores and keeps the system under pressure the pump may not need to run until the 3rd or 4th time the system is in use.

The solenoid keeps this from happening as it will turn off an on based on boost pressure. If it's off nothing can flow into the intake.
